Last Saturday, February 17th, 2018, Dynamis Consultants & Engineers was awarded and recognized by the provincial government of Málaga for its participation and collaboration following the earthquake that occurred in Mexico City last Sept. 19, 2017. Dynamis is honored to receive this award, which was presented by Ricardo Garcia Arribas, the vice president of the Spanish Association for Seismic Engineering.
The provincial government of Málaga conducts this yearly event to give recognition to organizations as well as individuals who work to protect and serve the people, and who participate in situations of emergencies and catastrophes. In addition, three individuals were recognized in memoriam, either for their dedicated service or for acts of bravery.
The event took place in the Edgar Neville Auditorium, and several mayors and officials were in attendance, including the vice president of the provincial government of Málaga, Francisco Salado, and the Deputy of Sustainability, Francisco Delgado Bonilla.
At the start of the event, Salado acknowledged and thanked the 56 Civil Protection groups that the province has and the more than 3,000 volunteers who collaborate and give generously of their time and service.
Dynamis, for its part, received the award and recognition due to the role they played as advisors to the Unidad Militar de Emergencia (UME) and the Red Cross during the aftermath of the earthquake in Mexico last September. As experts in earthquake engineering, we also conduct post-seismic missions and make an effort to contribute our services any way we can. These types of missions are important because we obtain valuable first-hand knowledge that can spread awareness and improve upon earthquake response and standard protocol procedures.
